Blown Away by Books: book festival in the Deep South

Fish Hoek Library

16-19 March 2016

“The first festival took place in March 2014 and was a resounding success. False Bay College partnered with us to undertake all the marketing, at their own cost, and have committed to future festivals. The Festival will coincide with National Library Week each year and involves events at the libraries of Fish Hoek,  Masiphumelele, Simon’s Town and Ocean View, in this way allowing the programmes and audiences to be more diverse. Book-lovers, literary celebrities, poets and performers  are given the opportunity to interact. It also raises the profiles of libraries in the different communities, and creates opportunities for local business.

Line-up so far: Mike Nicol, Tan Twan Eng, Joanne Hichens, Paige Nick, Jacqui L’Ange, Maire Fisher, Kay White, Rahla Xenopoulis, Claire Robertson, Rebecca Davis, Bridgit Pitt, Michele Rowe, Christina Coates and many more in the negotiation phase.”

Michéle is speaking at 19:00 on Wednesday 16 March.
